In 2014, Y Saiprasad Reddy of YSRCP was the winner in this seat beating K Meenakshi Naidu of TDP by a margin of 16,831 votes which was 12.13% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2009 Assembly elections, K Meenakshi Naidu of TDP won this seat defeating Y Sai Prasad Reddy of INC by a margin of 256 votes which was 0.22% of the total votes polled for the seat.
