In 2014, Kalikho Pul of INC was the winner in this seat beating Banim Kri of BJP by a margin of 5,770 votes which was 61.64% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2009 Assembly elections, Shri Kalikho Pul of INC won this seat defeating Shri Baritlum Ama of TMC by a margin of 6,790 votes which was 74.34% of the total votes polled for the seat.
