There were a total of 2,74,988 registered voters on the electoral rolls for the 2024 Visakhapatnam Uttaram, Vizag, Vizagapatam, Visakha, Waltair Assembly election, of which 1,35,877 were male, 1,39,093 female and 18 of the third gender. In the 2019 Assembly elections, there were a total of 2,80,328 registered voters, of which 1,35,877 were male, 1,40,359 female and 17 of the third gender. In 2014 elections, there were a total of 2,67,215 registered voters in this constituency, of which 1,35,828 were male, 1,31,338 female and 49 of the third gender. In the 2009 polls, the number of total electors was 2,10,362 which included 1,05,452 male, and 1,04,910 female.

In the 2019 Andhra Pradesh Assembly elections, Ganta Srinivasa Rao of TDP won in this constituency beating Kammila Kannaparaju (Kk Raju) of YSRCP by a margin of 1,944 votes which was 1.1% of the total votes cast. In 2014, Penmetsa Vishnu Kumar Raju of BJP was the winner in this seat beating Chokkakula Venkata Rao of YSRCP by a margin of 18,240 votes which was 11.41% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2009 Assembly elections, Vijaya Kumar Thynala of INC won this seat defeating Dr Shirin Rahman Shaik of PRAP by a margin of 5,523 votes which was 3.87% of the total votes polled for the seat.
