In the 2019 Andhra Pradesh Assembly elections, Bolla Brahma Naidu of YSRCP won in this constituency beating G V Aanzaneyulu of TDP by a margin of 28,628 votes which was 12.8% of the total votes cast. In 2014, G V Aanzaneyulu of TDP was the winner in this seat beating Dr Nannapaneni Sudha of YSRCP by a margin of 21,407 votes which was 10.83% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2009 Assembly elections, Gonuguntla Venkata Seeta Ramanjaneyulu of TDP won this seat defeating Narendra Nath Chebrolu of INC by a margin of 24,103 votes which was 13.9% of the total votes polled for the seat.
