In 2014, Alapati Rajendra Prasad of TDP was the winner in this seat beating Annabattuni Siva Kumar of YSRCP by a margin of 19,065 votes which was 9.97% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2009 Assembly elections, Nadendla Manohar of INC won this seat defeating Rajendra Prasad Alapati of TDP by a margin of 2,884 votes which was 1.71% of the total votes polled for the seat.
