In the 2019 Andhra Pradesh Assembly elections, Kadubandi Srinivasa Rao of YSRCP won in this constituency beating Kolla Lalitha Kumari of TDP by a margin of 11,365 votes which was 6.18% of the total votes cast. In 2014, Kolla Lalitha Kumari of TDP was the winner in this seat beating Rongali Jagannadham of YSRCP by a margin of 28,572 votes which was 16.6% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2009 Assembly elections, Kolla Lalitha Kumari of TDP won this seat defeating Allu Kesava Venkata Joginaidu of INC by a margin of 3,440 votes which was 2.19% of the total votes polled for the seat.
