In 2014, Budda Raja Sekhara Reddy of YSRCP was the winner in this seat beating Silpa Chakrapani Reddy of TDP by a margin of 4,861 votes which was 3.28% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2009 Assembly elections, Earasu Prathap Reddy of INC won this seat defeating Budda Rajasekhera Reddy of TDP by a margin of 4,307 votes which was 3.72% of the total votes polled for the seat.
