In the 2019 Andhra Pradesh Assembly elections, Thopudurthi Prakash Reddy of YSRCP won in this constituency beating Paritala Sreeram of TDP by a margin of 25,575 votes which was 12.65% of the total votes cast. In 2014, Paritala Sunithamma of TDP was the winner in this seat beating Thopudurthy Prakash Reddy of YSRCP by a margin of 7,774 votes which was 4.32% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2009 Assembly elections, Paritala Sunithamma of TDP won this seat defeating Thopudurthi Prakash Reddy of INC by a margin of 1,707 votes which was 1.2% of the total votes polled for the seat.
