In the 2019 Andhra Pradesh Assembly elections, Kolusu Partha Sarathy of YSRCP won in this constituency beating Bode Prasad of TDP by a margin of 11,317 votes which was 5.29% of the total votes cast. In 2014, Bode Prasad of TDP was the winner in this seat beating Kukkala Vidyasagar of YSRCP by a margin of 31,448 votes which was 16.9% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2009 Assembly elections, Parthasarothy Kolusu of INC won this seat defeating Chalasani Venkateswara Rao of TDP by a margin of 177 votes which was 0.11% of the total votes polled for the seat.
