In the 2019 Andhra Pradesh Assembly elections, Jogi Ramesh of YSRCP won in this constituency beating Kagitha Krishna Prasad of TDP by a margin of 7,839 votes which was 5.37% of the total votes cast. In 2014, Kagitha Venkata Rao of TDP was the winner in this seat beating Buragadda Vedavyas of YSRCP by a margin of 13,694 votes which was 10.11% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2009 Assembly elections, Jogi Ramesh of INC won this seat defeating Kagita Venkata Rao of TDP by a margin of 1,192 votes which was 0.94% of the total votes polled for the seat.
