In 2014, Kalamata Venkata Ramana Murthy of YSRCP was the winner in this seat beating Satrucharla Vijaya Rama Raju of TDP by a margin of 3,865 votes which was 2.74% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2009 Assembly elections, Vijayaramaraju Satrucherla of INC won this seat defeating Kalamata Venkata Ramana Murty of TDP by a margin of 20,790 votes which was 16.49% of the total votes polled for the seat.
