In the 2019 Andhra Pradesh Assembly elections, Gopireddy Srinivasareddy of YSRCP won in this constituency beating Aravinda Babu Chadalavada of TDP by a margin of 32,277 votes which was 17.63% of the total votes cast. In 2014, Dr Gopireddy Srinivasa Reddy of YSRCP was the winner in this seat beating Nalabothu Venkata Rao of BJP by a margin of 15,766 votes which was 9.54% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2009 Assembly elections, Kasu Venkata Krishna Reddy of INC won this seat defeating Kodela Siva Prasad Rao of TDP by a margin of 5,971 votes which was 4.41% of the total votes polled for the seat.
