In 2014, Y Balanagireddy of YSRCP was the winner in this seat beating Palakurthi Thikkareddy of TDP by a margin of 7,462 votes which was 5.31% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2009 Assembly elections, Y Balanagi Reddy of TDP won this seat defeating Dalavai Ramaiah of INC by a margin of 10,697 votes which was 9.55% of the total votes polled for the seat.
