In the 2019 Andhra Pradesh Assembly elections, M Thippeswamy of YSRCP won in this constituency beating K Eranna of TDP by a margin of 13,136 votes which was 7.42% of the total votes cast. In 2014, K Eeranna of TDP was the winner in this seat beating Mopuragundu Thippe Swamy of YSRCP by a margin of 14,712 votes which was 9.3% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2009 Assembly elections, K Sudhakar of INC won this seat defeating K Eranna of TDP by a margin of 10,415 votes which was 7.04% of the total votes polled for the seat.
