In the 2019 Andhra Pradesh Assembly elections, Burra Madhu Sudhan Yadav of YSRCP won in this constituency beating Dr Mukku Ugra Narasimha Reddy of TDP by a margin of 40,903 votes which was 21.22% of the total votes cast. In 2014, Kadiri Babu Rao of TDP was the winner in this seat beating Burra Madhusudana Rao of YSRCP by a margin of 7,207 votes which was 4.53% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2009 Assembly elections, Ugra Narasimha Reddy Mukku of INC won this seat defeating Sunkari Madhu Sudhana Rao of IND by a margin of 2,935 votes which was 2.23% of the total votes polled for the seat.
