In 2014, Attar Chand Basha of YSRCP was the winner in this seat beating Kandikunta Venkata Prasad of TDP by a margin of 968 votes which was 0.57% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2009 Assembly elections, Kandikunta Venkata Prasad of TDP won this seat defeating Battala Venkataramana of INC by a margin of 14,977 votes which was 9.67% of the total votes polled for the seat.
