In 2014, Amzath Basha S B of YSRCP was the winner in this seat beating Durgaprasad Rao Sudha of TDP by a margin of 45,205 votes which was 27.86% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2009 Assembly elections, Ahamadullah Mohammad Syed of INC won this seat defeating Kandula Sivananda Reddy of TDP by a margin of 7,350 votes which was 5.38% of the total votes polled for the seat.
