In the 2019 Andhra Pradesh Assembly elections, Kasu Mahesh Reddy of YSRCP won in this constituency beating Yarapathineni Srinivasa Rao of TDP by a margin of 28,613 votes which was 12.71% of the total votes cast. In 2014, Yarapathineni Srinivasa Rao of TDP was the winner in this seat beating Janga Krishna Murthy of YSRCP by a margin of 7,187 votes which was 3.7% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2009 Assembly elections, Yarapathineni Srinivasa Rao of TDP won this seat defeating Ala Venkateswarlu of INC by a margin of 10,021 votes which was 6.04% of the total votes polled for the seat.
