In the 2019 Andhra Pradesh Assembly elections, Kondeti Chitti Babu of YSRCP won in this constituency beating Nelapudi Stalin Babu of TDP by a margin of 22,207 votes which was 14.22% of the total votes cast. In 2014, Pulaparty Narayana Murty of TDP was the winner in this seat beating Chitti Babu Kondeti of YSRCP by a margin of 13,505 votes which was 9.46% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2009 Assembly elections, Pamula Rajeswari Devi of INC won this seat defeating Pulaparti Narayanamurthy of TDP by a margin of 3,105 votes which was 2.31% of the total votes polled for the seat.
