In 2014, Gonugguntla Suryanarayana of TDP was the winner in this seat beating Kethireddy Venkata Rami Reddy of YSRCP by a margin of 14,211 votes which was 7.47% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2009 Assembly elections, Kethireddi Venkata Rami Reddy of INC won this seat defeating G Suryanarayana of IND by a margin of 19,172 votes which was 12.89% of the total votes polled for the seat.
