In the 2019 Andhra Pradesh Assembly elections, Anantha Venkatarami Reddy of YSRCP won in this constituency beating Prabhakar Chowdary V of TDP by a margin of 28,698 votes which was 17.38% of the total votes cast. In 2014, Prabhakar Chowdary V of TDP was the winner in this seat beating B Gurunatha Reddy of YSRCP by a margin of 9,334 votes which was 6.01% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2009 Assembly elections, B Gurunatha Reddy of INC won this seat defeating Mahalakshmi Sreenivasulu of TDP by a margin of 13,242 votes which was 11.41% of the total votes polled for the seat.
