In the 2019 Andhra Pradesh Assembly elections, Gummanur Jayaram of YSRCP won in this constituency beating Kotla Sujathamma of TDP by a margin of 39,896 votes which was 21.07% of the total votes cast. In 2014, Gummanur Jaya Ram of YSRCP was the winner in this seat beating B Veerabhadra Gowd of TDP by a margin of 1,919 votes which was 1.15% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2009 Assembly elections, Patil Neeraja Reddy of INC won this seat defeating Gummanuru Jayaram of PRAP by a margin of 5,645 votes which was 4.04% of the total votes polled for the seat.
